Poinsettia Sale

Support local horticulture students at Orange Coast College’s annual poinsettia sale on Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Or if you want avoid the sale rush you can pre-order plants and pick them up Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Minimum $100 order required, just fill out the online form at occhorticulture.com and mail it in.)
As part of their studies, students have been growing red, white, peppermint, ice punch and red and white poinsettias in greenhouses for you to enjoy for the holidays. Proceeds from the plant sale will help fund their upcoming projects.
Choose from six-inch pots filled with three lush plants, rather than one, four-inch pots, 14-inch bowls, centerpieces and hanging baskets. Prices range from $5 to $40.
Orange Coast College is at 2701 Fairview Road in Costa Mesa.

The week before the Thanksgiving holiday, we had an awesome giveaway of a fresh, never frozen, free range, all natural turkey from California courtesy of The Meat House. The winner, Norma Jean, a local comedienne and actress, was super excited to claim her prize. Her local turkey was tender, juicy and had that real old-fashioned turkey flavor that you can actually taste.
